INTEGRATED 2007 ANTWERP DE SINGEL
This is all I seem to have remembered from the conference:
- do what you want to do
- don’t wait for clients
- don’t do what your clients want you to do
- lie to your clients if you need to
- design is better when it’s art
- new comes from the old
- design is better when it’s unique
Best speakers in my opinion:
- Rick Poynor – I wish I could have unlimited Poynor access
- René Knip – I never get bored to listen to this big kid
- Ruedi Baur – I asked him for a job
- Pierre di Scuillo – although I didn’t really undestand anything

October 21, 2007 by sebsanThe summer is over, I’ve found a flat and as promised I am posting the fruit of my typographic labour. Don’t forget to tell me what you’re thinking about it.
Summer in Brussels
August 22, 2007 by sebsanI still haven’t found an appartement in Brussels and I am sleeping here and there. I will be on the street if I don’t find soon. But otherwise things are pretty good. I am working on my new typeface which will be posted on the blog soon but I also allow a bit of free time to enjoy the summer parties. The following pictures are from a wicked party which was held under the Atomium.

So in the end I didn’t meet the queen. What a shame! However, Ludwig, Sibe and Jan Willem talked about stone carving with her majesty. Apparently she knows quite a bit about typography.

June 28, 2007 by sebsanHere are the all the final projects from the Type & Media departement. I am happy to let you know that everyone passed. The presentation went really well, everyone was quite relaxed and confident about their project. I also presented my porject although I was not graduating. I took this oportunity to talk about how I should approach my work during the next semester. My intention is to start a new typeface possibly influenced by completely different kind of construction principles. The jury suggested that I should clearly define the limits of my project. That is: What is the intended application for my typeface? What are the extremes and what falls outside of the limits of my project ? I am still unsure as how I will approach this new assignment but I am really motivated and I am looking forward to see everyone in september.
Sorry for the poor quality of the pictures but my camera is crap!
